I’m back from my holiday break and I’ll be back to semi-regular posting soon! In the meantime, I thought I’d share the little project I had been working on in the last month. They’re basically a little series of drawings I did with India Ink, a calligraphy pen, and watercolor paper, nothing too fancy, but I had fun working with a more physical medium for awhile so I think I’ll try to keep it up a bit more.
These are the drawings, post-framing (I took pictures of them with my phone, so the quality is a little poor). Hope everyone had a good New Year – I’m off to finish re-watching season two of Downton Abbey before season three starts next week!

the birds are my favourites.
well done !! I especially like the lion !
Nice work!
The hummingbird is amazing!
Beautiful work.
Happy New Year!
oh wow these are so great.
i think they need just one colour though. for each.
Gorgeous stuff. Enjoy Downton, says the smug Brit who knows what happens in s3…
Ugh, I’m jealous!
Nice work, I should be getting more practice like this. It would be neat to do this and add a small random splash of color. Thanks for sharing.
Those are great–I really love the lion!
They’re fantastic! Happy New Year!
Those are gorgeous!!!!
Nothing too fancy?!? Those are fabulous! Nice work.
These are wonderful! I adore the lion!
The lion was for my mom, after I randomly asked her what her favorite animal was. She was very confused.
That is kind of great. Can there be a drawing of that exchange in one of your upcoming pieces?
Amazing! I’m a tad envious of your artistic ability!
Beautiful work.
Lovely work – it photographed well. I’m sure the originals are even more subtle and striking.
you work is incredible. you have an amazing talent! glad your back to semi regular blogging too. I love your posts!
Thanks!
Love the hummingbird and the birds on twigs. You’re so talented!
Fabulous. I love the howling wolf. I think I must be the only Brit who hasn’t seen Downton. I’m going to have to catch up in order to join in with conversations
The wolf was my favorite too. And yes, you should watch it!
Wow. Those are really good!
You are so talented!
Aw, thank you!
Okay I had to take a second look…definitely the eagle…the expression of the eyes is what got me….but the rest were absolutely awesome!!!
These are outstanding, Rae! I really love the lion! So you draw, you cartoon, you write, you play piano… what other talents?
Haha, you’re sweet, thank you!
I love the deer.
