Excellent camera performance and features offered by the Redmi Note 8, including macro mode, night mode, portrait mode, and landscape mode.

Redmi Note 8 Photography

The Redmi Note 8 Pro gets good scores for daylight camera photography, although it is below phones with higher price tags such as the Google Pixel 3. However, its photos look very natural.

The quad camera setup at the back consists of a 48 MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and two 2MP depth cameras. Pictures from the primary lens have great colors.

Macro mode

The camera on the Redmi Note 8 is capable of taking beautiful macro photos. These photos come out very clear and crisp, even when blown up to full size. You can use the macro mode to photograph a flower, insect or any other small object.

The rear camera of the phone has four different lenses: a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro lens and a depth sensor. The quality of the photos produced by the Redmi Note 8 is excellent, even in broad daylight.

The selfie camera on the Redmi Note 8 is also quite good. It has a 13MP resolution and supports beauty features, face recognition, autofocus and more. Its photos come out well in low light conditions, and the color skin is close to natural. This smartphone can record 960fps slow motion videos and supports HDR photography. It can also capture a video in 4K resolution. Its night mode is very effective, and the noise reduction is not too aggressive.

Night mode

This mode allows you to take stunning photos in low-light conditions. It also has a feature that helps you take sharper images with more detail. You can use this feature to capture memories and share them with friends.

The Redmi Note 8 uses a quad-camera setup for its back camera. The primary camera is a 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor from Samsung with a 1/1.8″ lens and 0.8um pixels. It’s complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and 2MP depth sensors. The quad-camera setup makes for a wide angle of view with impressive clarity and image quality.

In high-contrast situations, the Redmi Note 8 delivers good dynamic range and decent details. However, its colors are on the cold side and it struggles with exposure.

Portrait mode

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is a well-balanced phone with a good front camera that takes decent selfies. The front camera also offers a range of image filters and beautification options to enhance your photos.

The 48-megapixel primary camera uses a Samsung ISOCELL GM2 sensor and features PDAF. It has an f/1.7 aperture and is capable of capturing more light to reduce noise. It also offers better dynamic range and contrast than its smaller sibling.

The camera app includes the usual options like HDR, AI enhancement, and night mode. However, the AI feature can be a bit all over the place, as evidenced by some of our test shots below. It tends to over-expose photos in bright light and underexpose them in low-light, but it can sometimes produce some great results. Even with this issue, the images produced by the Redmi Note 8 Pro are some of the best in this price range. The bokeh effect is nice and the edges of subjects are clearly separated.

Landscape mode

Redmi Note 8 is one of the hottest midrange smartphones with amazing camera features. This phone comes with a quad-camera setup including a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor and a 20-megapixel selfie camera. It also has night mode, slow-motion video capture, and a front flash for perfect selfies.

The camera on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is great for capturing landscape shots. The ultra-wide lens allows you to capture a wider image and eliminates distortion at the edges. It can also be used to capture images with a lot of detail.

The screen on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is excellent for reading books and viewing movies. The display is bright and offers good contrast, even in direct sunlight. The only downside is that it isn’t as bright as some of the competing phones in this price range. Its peak brightness is only about 430 nits. However, the high-resolution screen makes it a good choice for people with poor vision.
